I wanted to give my 2 cents on the recent actions of “King” Donald Trump and his “Vice President” Elon Musk. First of all, we all know the government is full of waste. But I want to ask the politicians out there, especially the ones who have been in office 10-20 years, Republicans and Democrats: Why did you let it get so bad? Aren’t you the ones responsible for this so-called waste in our government? Why are you not being held responsible? Instead, you rally to Musk’s side and act like you are shocked and go on these news shows like, “Here we are to save the USA and blame it on someone else.”
You show no mercy on these employees who came in to work one day and found out they were fired. Some of these are your constituents, people you were elected to represent! Could it be because you are now a multimillionaire and have been in office for so long you have forgotten your roots and have forgotten how it is to live paycheck to paycheck? You let an unelected immigrant into the White House to wreak havoc in numerous departments, and then, in some cases, he realized he screwed up and asked them to come back to work. Why did he think he had to take a chain saw to accomplish these firings? His words, not mine.
I think the best way to have done this was to have approached heads of departments and help them audit their offices and recommend where cuts could be made. This would establish a trail of success for people to see. Again, the American people realize there is waste in government spending, and we want our tax dollars being spent the right way. But the way it’s being done is just wrong. We need our politicians, Republicans and Democrats, to stand up to Musk and start looking out for the American people.
