Sipple: For this year’s election, we need a ‘Commonsense Party’

Posted

This is in answer to Joe Smyth, following his letter lamenting the lack of choices in our current election for president (“Is the White House the world’s finest assisted living facility?”). So, I have decided to throw my hat into the ring in an effort to bring a better choice.

First of all, my party is called the “Commonsense Party.” I’m changing the retirement age to 55. The average life span is 77. Come on! Work to 66/67 and get about 10 years! After I just worked about 50? Doesn’t make sense. I’m tired of insurance companies charging extra for my teeth and my eyes! Why? They’re part of my body! Doesn’t make sense!

The next ones are very important. I’m tired of the word “bologna” for “baloney”. Who says “boloGNA”? I’m signing an executive order to change “catsup” to “ketchup.” It doesn’t make sense.

Finally, I’m changing “Wednesday” to “Wensday.” Who says “WEDnesday”? I will be taking suggestions during my candidacy because I’m sure there’s more.

I know there will be some people who will say I’m not taking this election seriously. But there are people all over the world who look at our present candidates and say, “Seriously?”
