CLAYTON - Sidney W. "Sonny" Heverin passed away Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. He was 84. He was born on March 24, 1927, in Townsend, son of the late Sidney and Ada (Blanchfield) Heverin. Sonny served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He was a self-employed farmer and also did welding and salvage work. He also had worked part time at Hanovers. Sonny enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, hunting and shooting pool. He was preceded in death his wife, Kathleen Heverin; three brothers, Larry Heverin, Wayne Heverin, and Dave Heverin; and two sisters, Mary Grace and Marie Kohout. Sonny is survived by three daughters, Cindy Barry of Clayton, Shirley Wheat of Arizona, and Theresa Scott of Clayton; four sons, Mark Heverin and his wife Nadine of Bethany Beach, Timothy Heverin of Clayton, Phillip Rowan of Harrington, and Bruce Rowan of Smyrna; two step children, Tina Heverin of Dover and Johnny Morris and his wife Tammy of Woodside; two sisters, Phyllis Davidson and her husband Glenn of Harrington, and Helen Duffy of Dover; two brothers, Warren Heverin and his wife Becky of Dover, and Robert Heverin and his wife Barbara of Dover; a special nephew, Matthew Boyles, Sr. of Clayton; and two nieces, Phyllis Heverin of Magnolia, and Crystal Connors of Dover. Services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 10, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather two hours earlier. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. A reception will follow at Little Phyllis' house in Woodside.
