CAMBRIDGE — Authors Terry White and Ann Foley will host a rare showing of “Miss Nora’s Store” at the library in Cambridge May 14, at 11 a.m. The Academy Award-winning team of Whiteford-Cohen produced the 30-minute film in 1988 to celebrate the life and independence of Dorchester County’s rural seniors.

Ms. White and Ms. Foley will be on hand to answer questions or sign their books, the most recent of which is Ms. Foley’s Holland Island: Lost Atlantis of the Chesapeake.

Ms. White is perhaps best known for her Chesapeake Series, which follows a fictional family through four generations on the Eastern Shore, and for her Harriet Tubman tribute, Runaway Hearts.

The showing will be in the downstairs Meeting Room, where light refreshments will be provided.

Bargain hunters will appreciate that the free showing at 11 a.m. coincides with the monthly Friends of the Library book sale, which runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Book-lovers will want to bring their tote bags.
