Shirley Temple
Warren, 87
Shirley Temple Warren passed away peacefully on June 11, 2024, while being comforted by her daughters. Born in Felton, Delaware on September 1, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. Donophan, Sr. and Mary M. VanSant Donophan. Shirley was known for her warm smile, sense of humor, generous heart, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends.
In her earlier years, Shirley worked as a reporter for a newspaper in her hometown. Shirley later transitioned to a role as a dispatcher for the Department of Natural Resources and the Capitol Police, where her resilience and quick thinking served her well. Her passion for helping others led her to work at the YMCA Resource Center in Dover, where she touched the lives of many in the community.
Outside of her professional life, Shirley found joy in painting and drawing, playing bingo and traveling to auctions with her late husband. Her favorite auction sites, including Spence's Bazaar in Dover, Dixon's Auction at Crumpton, and Wilson's Auction in Milford, were places where she connected with others and enjoyed the thrill of the hunt.
She is survived by her daughters, Sande Warren Price and Sharon E. Conley; son, Raymond H. Warren, Jr. (Lisa); sisters, Diana L. Benton (Robert), Charlotte Wasmundski; brother, Charles E. Donophan, Jr. (John); a special cousin, Betty Whittington. Grandchildren, Andrew Price, Carrie Mabrey (Izzy), Kristopher Price, Joey Corey; Jason Conley; Zachary Warren, Amanda Lane. Great grandchildren, Cora, Gracie (Mabrey); Lily, Ava (Price-Corey); Will, Clara, Grace (Conley); Hunter, Grace, Ian, Ryan (Warren). She is also survived by a nephew, several nieces and many friends.
