Shirley Ann Jackson, 87
Shirley Ann Jackson went home to Jesus on Monday, January 8, 2024.
Shirley was born to Wesley and Ruth Larimore on May 20, 1936 in Harrington, Delaware on the family farm where she spent her childhood. She graduated from Harrington High School and remained an active alumnus for nearly six decades. After marrying and starting a family, she moved to Lincoln, Delaware where she spent the rest of her life as an active part of the community. Shirley was a dedicated mother to all four of her children, and her unwavering support and unconditional love will forever live on in their hearts. Family was one of the most important things to her, second only to her commitment to Christ, and she preferred to spend her time in the company of her family whenever possible.
For over 3 decades, Shirley worked at Fitzgerald's Salvage and Recycling, and many of her co-workers were also like family to her. Those friendships continued long after her well-deserved retirement. Shirley cherished her years as den mother to Cub Scouts Pack 116. She loved reading and the Baltimore Orioles, who she supported through good years & bad! She was a lifelong active member of Lincoln United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir, supporting the youth programs, and sending birthday cards to members. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with all those around her. Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Wesley and Ruth Larimore, and her brother, Charles Larimore.
Shirley is survived by her children, Rusty (Robin) Jackson, Jeff (Nicole) Jackson, Rodney Jackson, and Wendi (Richard) Cimino. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and her brother, Robert (Rose) Larimore.
Shirley's family will forever honor the legacy of a remarkably humble & principled woman who made a lasting impact on those that knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life service to honor Shirley will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Lincoln United Methodist Church (8641 Second Street, Lincoln, DE 19960). Visitation will be held at the church at 12:00 pm just prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, we invite you to make a donation in Shirley's honor to CHEER Meals on Wheels at www.cheerde.com/donate.
Arr. by Lofland Funeral Home Milford. Letters of condolence may be shared with the family at www.loflandandmcknatt.com.
