Laurel - Sherry T. Elzey passed away on Aug. 2, 2016 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. Born is Salisbury, she is the daughter of the late Lee Carroll Foxwell Sr., and Frances Claudine Davis Foxwell Phippin. Sherry attended Wicomico High School. After high school she worked for the Manhatten Shirt factory at the age of 19. She was a candy striper and a CNA for Peninsula Regional Medical Center, a quality control specialist at Mrs. Pauls Kitchen in Crisfield, and a machine operator at DuPont Company in Seaford. Sherry was a member of Christ Evangelistic Church in Laurel. In addition to her parents; she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Elzey; her daughter, Penny Abbott Jones; and brothers, Joe Foxwell and Bunky Foxwell. Sherry is survived by her children, Christine Wootten and her companion Gene Sullenberger of Seaford, Marvin Williams and his wife Kat of Arkansas, and Wilson "Buddy" Williams and his wife Gaige of Florida; Siblings, Linda Smullen of Laurel, Debbie Ornsby of Arizona, Ronnie Dean Foxwell of Bivalve, and Clark "Pumpkin Phippen of Arizona; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive her. A funeral service will be held on Mon., Aug. 8, 2016 at Christ Evangelistic Church, 9802 Camp Road, Laurel, at 2:00 pm. A viewing will be held at the church from 1-2pm. Reverend Roland Tice will officiate. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Laurel.
