Seven Downstate teams make two DIAA boys' soccer brackets

DOVER — Cape Henlopen High took the top seed in Division I while Sussex Academy is the No. 1 seed in Division II as the DIAA state tournament pairings in boys’ soccer were announced today.

Four Henlopen Conference teams made the eight-team field in Division I while three Downstate squads are in the 12-team Division II bracket.

In Division I games involving Downstate teams, which are all being played on Thursday at 6:30 p.m., No. 1 Cape Henlopen hosts No. 8 Dover, No. 5 Sussex Central plays at No. 4 Wilmington Charter and No. 6 Milford travels to No. 3 Salesianum.

No. 2 Delcastle hosts No. 7 St. Georges in the other quarterfinal game.

The 12-team Division II tourney begins on Tuesday with contests at 6:30 p.m.. In games involving Downstate teams, Delmar will host Tower Hill while Indian River hosts Newark Charter.

In Saturday’s quarterfinals, Suussex Academy will host the Delmar-Tower Hill winner at 6:30 p.m.
