CAMBRIDGE - On Feb. 10, the Boys & Girls Club at Leonards Lane held a celebratory event ahead of Self-Love Day on Feb. 13. The half-day event for club members promoted their sense of being themselves and being comfortable in their skin, a statement from the club said.
The day consisted of learning about etiquette, grooming, how to tie a tie, hygiene tips, work ethic, enthusiasm, punctuality, and various other life skills and tips. Featured guests working with the children included barbers, hairstylists, makeup artists and inspirational speakers.
"We recognize the importance of youth learning to value and be the best version of themselves," Club Manager Gabe Butler said. "Today's event aims to empower them with skills and mindsets that are helpful in achieving successful and happy lives."
