The 2016 month of July has flown by for the Salisbury Community Band with its final concert occurring on its last day, Sunday.
To date, three concerts have occurred in their outdoor home, the historic bandstand of Salisbury City Park and one held at the alternate site in case of inclement or heat related weather, Christ United Methodist Church on Phillip Morris Drive.
Fittingly, after a concert season that featured many melodies associated with the music of America, the headliner selection chosen for this concert will be a little more far-reaching.
Doing our part in a time of unrest across our planet, we once again say to all of civilization, “Let There Be Peace On Earth.”
Music from Broadway and the silver screen, including George Gershwin, “Les Miserables,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and “Star Wars,” along with some peppy marches round out the programming for the evening.
There will be one more special piece: A surprise repeat from earlier in the season, one that demands audience participation.
Come on out and show us the moves that were the highlight of our second concert.
