In just 37 days, our community did something amazing. Despite a massive misinformation campaign by Mayor Randy Taylor using taxpayer resources, such as the city’s Facebook and other official channels, together we collected and delivered over 6,000 signatures to the City of Salisbury to preserve collective bargaining for our city’s first responders and public employees. That is 54% more than the number we needed to get this on the ballot so City residents can decide at the ballot box.
The signatures delivered represent thousands of neighbors across Salisbury who believe that the people who answer our emergency calls, repair our streets, maintain our parks, and keep our city running deserve a voice in their workplace.
We are excited for the city to verify these petitions so we can move on to saving collective bargaining via the ballot and kill this terrible legislation once and for all.
Thank you to every person who signed, volunteered, and believed in this movement. This victory belongs to all of you.
Thank you to our city firefighters, police officers, and city workers for all the work you do for us. I hope you know that the community has your back even when our politicians don’t.
