BRIDGEVILLE - Sarah C. Elliott passed away on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, at Country Rest Home. She was born in Camden, N.J., on Saturday, Dec. 27, 1919, daughter of the late William and Phoebe(Taylor) Conaway. Mrs. Elliott lived most of her life in the Bridgeville area. She spent her life on the farm and very much enjoyed being a farmer's wife. She was a member of the homemakers club and the Cheer Center. In her spare time she enjoyed reading. She was known to be an excellent cook and she won many awards at the state fair for her crocheting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, John T. Elliott, Sr.; her brothers, William C. Conaway and Warren Emerson Conaway; and her sister, Hannah Bradley. She is survived by her sons, John Elliott, Jr. and his wife, Maria, of Bridgeville and David Elliott, of Magnolia; her daughters, Barbara Truitt, of Georgetown and Janet Scarborough and her husband, Lewis, of Georgetown; her eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granchild. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at 1 p.m., at Seaford Church of God of Prophecy, Seaford. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mrs. Elliott's memory to Church of God of Prophecy, at www.cogop.org.
