CLAYTON - Sara Calloway, 70 of Clayton, died February 14, 2016 in Christiana Hospital, Newark. Mrs. Calloway was born in Middletown, and was a 1963 graduate of Galena High School. She went to Best Beauty School in Dover and worked as a hair dresser for several years. Sara taught pre-school for Ewell's St. Paul Methodist Church in Clayton until she began her 18 year career with the Smyrna Police Department. In 2010 she received the Civilian of the Year award by the Smyrna Police Dept. She enjoyed reading, watching football and relaxing at Rehoboth Beach. Sara was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband of 49 years, T. William Calloway, Sr.; son, T. William Calloway, Jr and his wife Stacey of Middletown; brother, Jack Alderson (Ethel) of Odessa; sister, Dorothy Spencer of Lewes; and grandson, Will Calloway. A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 West Cross St., Galena, Md., where funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Burial in Crumpton Cemetery, Crumpton, Md. www.galenafuneralhomeofsls.com
