Sandra Faye Cowgill

GREENSBORO - Sandra Faye Cowgill passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Caroline Hospice House in Denton. She was born Aug. 20, 1944 in Dover, Del., to the late Samuel Clark Wood III, and Rebecca Ellen Wood. "Sandy" was a 1962 graduate of Delhass High School in Bucks County, Pa. She moved to Maryland shortly after graduation and worked as a cashier at Food City in Denton and Hurlock Food Rite. Sandy enjoyed playing cards with her friends and was a member of the VFW Post No. 7937 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her son, Clark Cowgill; and his wife, Sheryl, of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Dorothy Snow, of Marydel; three grandchildren, Kelsey, Shannon and Camden; two nieces, Sherry Taylor and Karen Barr; a great-niece, Kylie Taylor; and many wonderful friends and cousins. A funeral service for Mrs. Cowgill will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the Fleegle & Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will in the Greensboro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a memorial donation be made to Compass Regional Hospice, 255 Comet Drive, Centreville, MD 21617.
