Samuel Clayton Seward, 74 FREDERICA - Samuel Clayton Seward, died on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at the Delaware Veterans Nursing Home in Milford. He was 74. Mr. Seward was born in Wilmington, the son of the late William H. and Martha L. (Connor) Seward. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1957 to 1963. He worked at General Foods in Dover for 25 years, retiring in 1984. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and loved sports and hunting. He is survived by his children, Chris Seward of Lincoln, Debra Stiles and her husband Samuel and Robert Seward and his wife Tammi, all of Magnolia; two sisters, Audrey Evans of Hazletville, and Marjie Needles of New Castle; and one brother, Carl Seward of California; five grandchildren, Amanda Stratman, Danielle Ward, Cody Seward, Victoria Seward, and Stephen Stiles; 2 great grandchildren, Samantha Ward and Justin Ward, Jr. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009 at 12 noon in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, DE, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
