The Tuesday, Dec. 19, edition of the Salisbury Independent includes “Salisbury Rising” — an annual progress report.
It leads with insights on a proposed hotel and conference center targeted for a city-owned lot at the intersection of U.S. 13 and U.S. 50.
Proponents say it would be a start in filling a major gap in the city — hotels needed for big events such as Salisbury University graduations, sports tournaments and more.
Unity Square and Salisbury-Wicomico Regional Airport are also highlighted in this report.
The section was produced by Greg Bassett, the late editor of the newspaper. As always, he found several remarkable stories about progress in the city.
We look forward to sharing more of these stories in 2024.
As Mr. Bassett wrote last year, “Our community is firmly positioned for whatever happens next. We’ll take that ride together.”
