Judge Leah J. Seaton sentenced Annera Georges, 47, of Salisbury, to 33 years imprisonment following his May conviction of sexual abuse of a minor, rape in the second degree and two counts of sexual offense in the third degree.

Sentencing had been deferred for a mental health evaluation and presentence investigation.  Upon release, Georges will be registered and supervised for the remainder of his life as a tier III sexual offender.

Wicomico County State’s Attorney Matthew A. Maciarello commended the Wicomico Child Advocacy Center and its partners (Maryland State Police, Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office, Salisbury Police Department, Department of Social Services and Life Crisis Center).

Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Jamie Dykes prosecuted this case.

Delmar man convicted in narcotics case

Corey Ramon Schoolfield, 41, of Delmar, was convicted by a Wicomico County Circuit Court judge of possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, three counts of illegal possession of a firearm and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

The charges against Schoolfield arose out of a warrant that was executed in November at a Delmar apartment on Barbara Ann Way. There, officers located in excess of 100 grams of cocaine, over a half a gram of heroin, a loaded Glock 27 handgun, and $13,000 in U.S. currency. Sentencing has been deferred to a later date.

Wicomico County State’s Attorney Matthew A. Maciarello commended the Wicomico County Narcotics Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration for their work in the investigation and prosecution of this case.
