A Salisbury man faces life imprisonment after his conviction last week on sexual assault charges.
Joseph Bucio, 20, was convicted of Sexual Offense in the first degree and several other related charges by a Wicomico County judge.
The charges against Bucio arose from a domestic relationship, where Bucio was convicted of sexually assaulting a woman in January.
Bucio faces a maximum penalty of life imprisonment and will be required to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life. Sentencing is expected to occur in 60 to 90 days.
Wicomico County State’s Attorney Matthew A. Maciarello commended Officers B. Sigmund and L. Jones of the Salisbury Police Department for their work in the investigation and prosecution of this case.
