Ruth Ware Sizemore

Ruth Ware Sizemore, 79 GREENWOOD - Ruth Ware Sizemore, of Greenwood, formerly of Milford, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at the Country Rest Home in Greenwood. She was 79. Mrs. Sizemore was born on July 9, 1930, in Bolton, Mass., daughter of the late Edward and Ida (Wolcott) Ware. She was a branch manager for Stanley Home Products in charge of the Eastern shore of Maryland and Delaware for 35 years, retiring in 2001. Ruth enjoyed knitting, reading and the challenge of a good cross word puzzle. She was a member and past president of the Blue Hen VFW Post #6483 Women's Auxiliary in Milford as well as a past president of the organizations State Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sizemore was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Sizemore; a son, Danny Sizemore; two brothers, Arthur Ware and William Ware; and a sister, Alice Babcock. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Brenda Sizemore of Greenwood; a daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and John Mitchell of Greenwood; a brother and sister-in-law, Elliott and Marie Ware of Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandchildren, Kristin Elliott, Michael Mitchell, Wesley Sizemore and Rochelle Sizemore; and seven great-grandchildren. Services were Saturday, Dec. 5, at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford. Burial was held in the Milford Community Cemetery on Route 113. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to The Alzheimer's Association of Delaware, P.O. Box 625, Georgetown, DE, 19947 or to your favorite charity of choice.
