GEORGETOWN - Ruth V. Collins, passed away Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, in Beebe Medical Center. She was 86. Ruth was born in Georgetown, daughter of the late James and Arinthia (Joines) King. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, and was an avid reader of both books and magazines. She especially enjoyed caring for her own grandchildren and also the neighborhood children. In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, James Collins; and two brothers, Thurman King and Elwood King. She is survived by a son, James Collins and wife Terry; a daughter, Shirley Dennis and husband Sheldon, all of Georgetown; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; one sister, Grace Lawhead of Dover; and three nieces. A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery, Georgetown.
