LINCOLN – Ruth Louise Donovan, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017. She was born in Wilmington, daughter of the late John and Ruth (Tarbutton) Shanholtzer. Ruth worked in the housekeeping department for Genesis Healthcare at Milford Center for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Tyler Hicks; and five siblings. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Randall B. Donovan, III; four children, Frederick Simpson, Shirley Kee, David Simpson (Karen), and Richard Simpson (Lee); 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford with visitation after 11 a.m. Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
