Hollingsworth, 86 GALENA, Md. - Ruth Anna (Dennison) Hollingsworth, of Galena, went home to be with the Lord and her family on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at her home. She was 86. Ruth was born on Aug. 22, 1925, in Wilmington. She was the daughter of the late John James and Ellen May Seibert Dennison. Her husband, Howard John Hollingsworth, predeceased her on June 13, 2009. They shared a very loving relationship and were married for 42 years. Ruth was a very lovable and good-matured woman as well as a kind and compassionate lady, who thought f others and their needs and most often, put their needs first. She loved her family and friends and adored her grandchildren. Prior to marriage to Howard, Ruth worked as a night line manager for Clementes Restaurant in New Castle. She loved people and could always bring a smile to everyone's face. She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Ruth Burgess and son-in-law Robert A. Burgess of Newark, Del.; three grandsons, Matthew T. Kelley, Frances J. Kelley and Anthony A. Nastatos; a granddaughter, Kristina A. Nastatos Samuels; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Lillian Pierson of Pottstown, Pa., Ellen May Kreer of New Jersey, June Welch of Dover, Del., and Jacqueline Suvie of Wilmington, Del. Ruth is also survived by her loving and devoted niece, Rebecca Kirayoglu, who helped to care for her. She will be deeply love and sadly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be 4 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., 370 W. Cypress St., Millington, where relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Interment will be private, at the convenience of the family.
