Ruth Anna Cowgill, 80
DELMAR - Ruth Anna Cowgill, of Delmar, formerly of Denton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, in her home. She was 80. She was born March 22, 1928, in Dover, Del., daughter of the late Harvey F. and Bessie Hughes Tribbitt. Mrs. Cowgill was a 1945 graduate of Sudlersville High School. She and her husband Charles were farmers for several years before operating the business of Cowgill's Texaco Service Station, in Denton. She later went to work for Rowen's Stationary in Easton until she retired. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Stephen's United Methodist Church, Delmar. She is survived by two sons, Charles G. Cowgill Jr. and friend Ellen Dulin of Smyrna, and Daniel T. Cowgill and wife Brenda of Denton; two daughters, Naomi T. Cowgill of Delmar and Joanne C. Bolton and husband Edward of Harrington; eight grandchildren, David Price of Delmar, Lori McKewen of Felton, Jessica Lane of Hurlock, Wayne Fretterd Jr. of Denton, Ronald Hutson Jr. of Smyrna, Erin Bartz of Denton, Amanda Cowgill of Federalsburg, Adam Cowgill of Denton; 17 great-grandchildren; special friends, Debbie Cowgill, Debbie Haynie, Robin and Lillian Hoffman, and "The Saturday Night Club" In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles G. Cowgill Sr.; daughter, Dianne C. Fretterd; her grandson, Charles "Scotty" Hutson; her brothers, Howard F. Tribbett and C. Earl Tribbett; her sister, Doris Elaine Tribbett; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held on Saturday one hour before the service on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at noon, from Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, P.A., 106 W. Sunset Ave, Greensboro, MD 21639.
