Ruth Anna Bilbrough

MILFORD - Ruth Anna Bilbrough, left this world to join her husband Alfred, who loved her dearly, on July 16, 2012. She was surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born February 19, 1927, in Goldsboro, Md., to the late Omer & Edith (Hudson) Thompson. She worked for Playtex in her early years. After marrying her husband Alfred Milton Bilbrough, she enjoyed a life of farming, trucking, and raising not only her own children but many other children. Ruth enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading her Bible, singing and listening to church hymns, cooking for and spending time with her family. Some of her family's best memories are of Ruth in the kitchen cooking some of the best homemade meals. She has passed on her strength, her wit, and many life lessons to her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Milton Bilbrough; her brother, Omer Thompson, Jr.; and her granddaughter, Dawn R. Bilbrough. She is survived by her sons, John Wayne Frazier and wife Helen, of Ormond Beach, Fla., Alfred Lewis Bilbrough and his wife Patricia, of Snow Hill, Md; daughters, Rhonda Bilbrough, of Kent Island, Md, Mary Baker and partner Ray Kelly, of Felton, Alfreda 'Pedie' Butler and husband Wayne, of Spring Hope, N.C.; adopted daughter, Susie Melvin, of Milford; six grandchildren, Diana Bilbrough of Milford, Christina Marlowe, and Stephanie Butler, both of Spring Hope, N.C., Jennifer Baker and partner Raymond Johnson, of Millsboro, Christy Baker of Felton, Alfred L. Bilbrough, Jr., Alex Rizia and Erin Rizia of Snow Hill, Md., Jason Zhang of Ormond Beach, Fla.; six great-grandchildren, Alex and Ryan Marlowe, both of Spring Hope, N.C., Tyler Lynch, of Milford, Erin Baker and Bryce Weldon, both of Felton, Hunter Bilbrough, of Snow Hill, Md., Emma Rae Johnson, who will enter this world in August, of Millsboro; brother, Ralph E. Thompson and wife Joyce, of Felton; sister, Kathryn Childress and husband John, of Harrington; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Thursday July 19, 2012, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro, MD. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday July 20, 2012, in the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro, MD. Interment will follow in the Greensboro Cemetery.
