GREENWOOD - Ruth Ann Workman Wilcox, formerly of Middleford, departed this world to be with her Lord, Friday April 14, 2017.
She loved to fish on the Nanticoke River, where she spent many hours with her brothers and friends up until her health declined.
Ruth attended Seaford Nazarene Church. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all of her heart. Ruth loved to visit the nursing home with her brothers and church friends, her prayers were sincere and out of love and concern. Ruth was in active prayer to the Lord even after her very large stroke, praying not for herself but for her family and for her friends and for their salvation. There is no doubt that God received her with open arms, saying well done my good and faithful servant. May she rest in sweet peace.
She was preceded in death by her father James C. Workman and mother Georgia Anna Ryan Smart; three brothers David, James, and Howard Workman; three sons Wayne Shelp, George and Richard Wilcox.
Ruth is survived by her (2) brothers Charles Workman and his wife Tyla, and Norris Workman; her daughter Laura Lynn and her husband James Compton; three grandchildren; three bonus grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; seven nieces, and five nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 1 pm at Fleischauer Funeral Home, 16 W. Market Street, Greenwood, DE 19950.
Viewing will be held from 12 noon until 1 pm.
Interment will be held at St. Johnstown Cemetery, Greenwood.
