HENDERSON, Mad. - Ruth A. Tucker, of Henderson, died Saturday, March 7, 2009, in Caroline Nursing Home, Denton. She was 89. She was born March 20, 1919, in Pulaski County, Ky., to the late Sally Jane Hendrix and Henry Grady Hendrix. She was preceded in death by her husband, Augustus Tucker, on Nov. 1, 2002. They were married Nov. 20, 1943. She was also preceded in death by six siblings, Alfred, Louise, James, June, Randall, and Otis. She is survived by four children, William Tucker and wife Sue of Trapped, James Tucker and wife Lydia of Hartley, Del., Grady Tucker and wife Joyce of Henderson, and Ruth Mansfield and husband William of Henderson; six grandchildren, Karen Whatley, Judy Micheliche, Ben and Kate Tucker and Jeremy and Joshua Tucker; and five great-grandchildren, Shelby, Jacob, Kevin, Brian, and Tyler. In addition to her children, she is survived by four siblings, Elsie Collier of Lady Lake, Fla., Alvenia Ruggles of Ingleside, Judy Arnold of Lucasville, Ohio, and Bobby Hendrix of New Richmond, Ohio. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, at the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W. Sunset Ave., Greensboro, where friends and family may visit Tuesday evening 6 to 8 p.m. March 10.
