GAHANNA, Ohio - Russell Morrison, of Gahnna, suddenly departed this life on Thursday, May 22, 2008. He was 44.
He was born in Milford, Del., on June 18, 1963, son of Amanda Morrison and the late David Morrison Sr.
Russell attended public schools in Delaware, graduating from Caesar Rodney High School.
He graduated from Wilberforce University with a bachelor of science.
Russell honorably served his country, retiring from the Air Force Reserves after 20 years of service.
His professional career began at Ohio State University.
He retired at the top of his profession as a network engineer.
Russell then embarked upon a new career as an entrepreneur then as a strategic account manager which continued until the time of his death.
Russell embraced life and brought joy to those around him.
He was an outgoing person who never met a stranger. His family brought him the greatest happiness.
Russell is now in the hands of the Lord and at peace.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Tammy of Gahanna; two sons, Russell and Madison, both of Gahanna; his mother, Amanda of Frederica, Del.; two surviving brothers, David, Jr. of Newark, Del., and Harry of Huntsville, Ala., and the late Alax "Doug" Morrison; six sisters, Eloise Hickerson of Philadelphia, Mary Mills and Louvenia Tatman of Dover, Del., Helen Morrison of Bear, Del., Tootsie Drummond of Hopewell, Va., and Bonita Reeves of Newark; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Russell, a native of Dover, received full military honors from the Honor Guard of Dover Air Force Base, Dover.
The ceremony was presented by the honor guard with the playing of "Taps."
A memorial service was held on June 7, 2008, in Gahanna, where Russell resided with his wife, sons and additional family and friends for the past 25 years.
Russell was laid to rest on May 31, 2008, at Sharon Hills Cemetery, Dover, with full military honors.
