Rufus F. Steele, 89 CLAYTON - Rufus F. Steele, of Clayton, passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, in Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. He was 89. Mr. Steele retired from Pathmark Markets in 1978. He served in the U.S. Army, at the end of World War II. He attended the Smyrna Church of Christ, and was a member of the Kenton Ruritan Club. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Frances Stokes Steele of Clayton; two sons, Rufus Steele and his wife Sandy, and Terry Steele and wife Bonnie; grandchildren, Lonnie Steele and wife Jennifer, Heather Ebaugh and husband Donnie, Daniel Steele and wife Korie, Travis Steele, Jesse Steele, and Jim Pride Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Brayden, Allexi, Chayce, Cody, and Brittany Steele, Austin Bennett, Tyler Brown, Gracie Ebaugh, and Jim Pride III. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 25, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, where friends may call Wednesday evening 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Smyrna Church of Christ, 1630 Joe Goldsborough Road, Smyrna, DE 19977. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
