Roundup: Revelle leads Ravens in rout of Dickinson

Elias Revelle’s 22 points paced St. Thomas More as the Ravens earned a nonconference victory, 82-54, over Dickinson on Wednesday evening.

Corey Gordon scored 19 points, shooting 13-18 from the free throw line. Gregory Bloodsworth added 16 points.

The Ravens improved to 13-5.

Caesar Rodney 49, Sussex Central 48: The Riders picked up a Henlopen Conference Northern Division win in a game contested on Tuesday night.

Davione Robinson was CR’s top scorer with 12 points while Jordan Reynolds chipped in 11.

Tai’Ron Abbott from Sussex Central was the game’s leading scorer with 21 points.

Girls basketball

Smyrna 45, Cape Henlopen 42: Melena Credle’s 25 points led the Eagles to a Henlopen North victory.

Delmarva Christian 38, Gunston Day School, Md. 19: The Royals outscored Gunston Day School 11-0 run in the first quarter on their way to road win.

Ashlee McCoy netted 10 points to lead Delmarva Christian.

College basketball

MEN, Wesley 73, Penn State Harrisburg 52: Evan Anderson scored 21 points as the Wolverines earned a Capital Athletic Conference victory.

Wesley can clinch a spot in the six-team CAC tournament if it defeats St. Mary’s on Saturday.

Rashan Brinkley netted 13 points and JW Lawson added 12 for Wesley who outscored Penn State Harrisburg 42-27 in the second half.

WOMEN, Penn State Harrisburg 69, Wesley 57: Smyrna grad Brionna Johnson had 24 points and 12 rebounds but the Wolverines dropped the CAC contest.

Women’s lacrosse

Bucknell 25, Delaware State 1: Bucknell opened its 2016 women’s lacrosse season on a high note, topping visiting Delaware State.

Maddy Molinari, Gretchen Richter and Ally Furbay scored four goals each to lead the Bison, who returned 10 starters and 20 letterwinners from their 2015 squad.

Bucknell’s Eve Lukowski had three goals and five assists for a team-high eight points.

The Bison scored 15 seconds into the contest on a goal by Molinari and led 5-0 after Furbay scored for the second time with 20:47 left in the opening period.

The Hornets avoided a shutout when Kiana Dawson scored an unassisted goal on her only shot of the game with 5:38 left to play. The Hornets were held to three shots.

Delaware State will play its 2016 home opener on Saturday morning against St. Bonaventure. The contest gets underway at 10 a.m. at DSU’s Alumni Stadium.
