St. Thomas More won the last two sets to pull out a 3-2 win over Caesar Rodney High in volleyball on Tuesday afternoon.

The Ravens won by scores of 25-19, 21-25, 22-25, 25-18, 15-10.

St. Thomas More was paced by Sarah Pool with 22 kills, 5 aces and 36 digs. Also leading the Ravens were Kourtney Orth (11 kills), Jessica Crawford (6 kills, 9 aces, 14 digs) and Gillian Crawford (4 kills, 7 aces, 8 digs, 32 assists).

Leading the Riders were Lynsy Gruwell (9 kills), Gabrielle Lord (5 digs, 17 assists) and Chloe Mangubat and Summer Thomas with three kills and 11 digs each.

Smyrna 3, Delmar 1: The Eagles won the last two sets to earn a 25-13, 20-25, 28-26, 25-12 victory.

Smyrna is now 6-0 in the Henlopen Conference, 6-2 overall.

Delmarva Christian 3, Indian River 0: Gabrielle Book’s nine kills helped the Royals to the win in straight sets.

Set scores were 25-25, 25-18 and 25-8.

Woodbridge 3, Delaware Public Safety and Security 0: The Blue Raiders took the nonconference matchup. 25-14, 25-10 and 25-14.

Field hockey

Caesar Rodney 4, Indian River 0: Tara Daddio netted a pair of goals in the Riders’ victory.

Stephanie Horne and Valisatie Schmidt also scored for CR in the first half.

Dover 8, Seaford 0: Kirsten Adkins scored five goals and had one assist as the Senators earned the shutout.

Ananda Cann, Neriah Kahn and Mira Prisco had the other goals for Dover. which outshot Seaford, 42-0.

Cape Henlopen 2, Lake Forest 1: Alia Marshall and Katie Frederick each had a goal for the Vikings.

Goalie Allison Bishop kept it close for the Spartans as she recorded 34 saves. Lake’s goal was the first allowed by Cape this season after five straight shutouts.

Milford 2, Smyrna 1: Rajene Bowe scored the game-winner as the Buccaneers rallied from an early deficit.

Katelyn Melvin netted the tying goal for Milford. Kaila Hindt opened the scoring for Smyrna.

Sussex Tech 2, Woodbridge 1: Hannah Venables broke a 1-1 tie with a goal in the game’s final four minutes.

Sussex Tech also got a goal from Madia Bada. Sara Davis netted the goal for Woodbridge.

Delmar 7, Sussex Central 0: Peyton Kemp’s two goals led the Wildcats while Paige Twilley-Webster, Caitlyn Wink, Ashley Arter, Jordan Moore and Jenna Lloyd also scored as Delmar remained unbeaten.

Boys’ soccer

Dover 2, Laurel 1: Jordan Hutchins and James Stock scored as the Senators held on for the one-goal victory.

Polytech 2, Delaware Military 1: Jankiel Drane gave the Panthers the win with his goal in overtime.

Bryce Wahinya also scored for Polytech.

Smyrna 3, Wilmington Christian 1: Grant London netted a pair of first-half goals as the Eagles picked up a nonconference win.

Wes Ogden scored in the 75th minute to finish off the victory while Abdul Musa made nine saves, including a stop on a penlty kick in the 62nd minute. The Crusaders outshot Smyrna, 19-12.

Delmar 2, St. Thomas More 1: The Wildcats tallied a pair of first-half goals before holding off the Ravens for a nonconference win.

Cape Henlopen 4, Red Lion Christian 0: Drew Mulcahy and Jack Ashby each had two-goal games as the Vikings won the nonconference contest with a shutout.

Seaford 11, Delaware Public Safety and Security 1: Pierre Madeus and Antonio Ambrosini each had hat tricks for the Blue Jays.

College volleyball

College of Charleston 3, Delaware 2: Delaware held a two sets to one lead but could not put away the College of Charleston as the Blue Hen dropped a five-set heartbreaker to the Cougars,

Charleston captured the match by set scores of 19-25, 25-21, 16-25, 25-22, 15-13 to improve to 9-8 overall and 1-2 in the Colonial Athletic Association. Delaware, which dropped its fourth consecutive match, fell to 8-9 overall and 0-4 in league play.

Alexa Swann blasted a career-high 19 kills and hit .483 for the Blue Hens, while she also added a match-high seven blocks. Katie Hillman and Smyrna High grad Raven Luckett each slammed 12 kills, while Autumn Jenkins notched her team-leading seventh double-double of the year with 11 kills and 16 digs.

Julia Anderson handed out a season-best 53 assists and set her career-high with 16 digs while Ariel Shonk contributed 15 digs for Delaware.
