Delaware State had waited almost a month to get another win in men’s basketball.
The Hornets finally ended their four-game losing streak with a 66-56 win over Coppin State in a MEAC matchup on Saturday afternoon.
It was the first win over DSU (4-4 MEAC, 11-3 overall) since Jan. 20.
On Saturday, the Hornets rallied from a 35-30 halftime deficit to down the Eagles (1-7 MEAC, 2-20 overall) for the second time this winter.
Three players scored in double figures for DelState:,Deywilk Tavarez, (22 points, 8 assists), Wesley Oba tacked (14 points, 3 blocks) and Jevin Muniz (12 points, five assists).
The Hornets had 15 assists on 24 made field goals.
DSU hosts Morgan State on Monday night.
Delaware 62, North Carolina A&T 54: Delaware shook off a slow start to down North Carolina A&T in a CAA game on Saturday afternoon.
The Blue Hens bounced back from a tough loss on Thursday night at Elon to down the Aggies for the second time this season.
Halfway through the first half, Delaware trailed the Aggies by a 20-11 margin. But the Hens cut that deficit to 28-25 by halftime before out-scoring North Carolina A&T, 39-26, in the second half.
Gerald Drumgoole, Jr. netted a team-high 23 points for Delaware with Jalun Trent adding 10 after shooting 4-for-4 from the field.
The Hens (9-5 CAA, 17-10 overall) shot just 5-of-23 from three-point range but were 18-of-28 from inside the arc.
With 17 victories, Delaware matched its win total for all last season when it finished 17-16.
The Aggies, coached by former Delaware coach Monte Ross, are 5-9 in the CAA, 7-20 overall.
The Hens return home on Thursday to host first-place Charleston.
WOMEN, Coppin State 53, Delaware State 46: Ja-Naiah Perkins-Jackson, Denijsha Wilson and Savannah Brooks combined to score 35 of the Hornets’ points in their MEAC loss on Saturday.
Perkins-Jackson led the Hornets (2-6 MEAC, 6-15 overall) with 13 points. Wilson added 12 point and Brook contributed 10 points and nine rebounds.

MEN, Delaware 17, St. John’s 6: The Blue Hens improved to 2-0 with the road victory on Saturday.
Mike Robinson’s posted his second straight seven-goal game for Delaware while JP Ward finished with a team-high four assists.
John McCurry recorded both his first-career goal and hat trick. Nick Jessen scored twice while sophomore Hank D’Ambrogi (Cape Henlopen) scored his first Blue Hen goal.
