District Governor Steve Capelli conducted the 7630 Rotarians’ conference virtually for the first time in the organization’s history.

This year’s District 7630 conference was held April 16 and 17.

Mr. Capelli, who is concluding his one-year term, spoke on the successes and unprecedented challenges of his year where his theme has been “Engage and Make a Difference.”

The conference opening keynote speech was presented by Ray Klinginsmith, the 100th president of Rotary International and the first Rotary Scholar to ever serve as RI president.

Mr. Klinginsmith, with more than 50 years of service to Rotary and his community, presented “The Magical Power of Rotary,” which highlighted the power of Rotarians in changing the world for good through leadership, service and making the planet better for everyone.

Saturday’s keynote address was delivered by Beth Keck, a former Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar and student at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a 17-year Rotarian. Her address, “The Gift of Rotary,” highlighted the value of supporting youth through leadership and scholarship opportunities, while embracing the diversity, culture and beliefs of our communities and the world.

The conference also featured additional meaningful and informative presentations highlighting outstanding grant service projects, Rotary involvement in Easter Seals and Polio Plus, the Rotary Foundation, membership engagement and Rotary Fellowships.
