DOVER - Rosendo Cortez-Cortez, 72, of Dover, died Jan. 6, 2011, at his residence. Born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, he was the son of Jose Angel Cortez Reyes of Mexico and the late Margarita Cortez. Mr. Cortez emigrated to the United States in 1965 and took part in the US Government Agricultural Program. He had worked throughout the country and retired in 1990. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who enjoy the time spent with his family and friends. He was a member in good standing at Holy Cross Catholic Church and he will be greatly missed by those whose life he touched. Besides his mother, Mr. Cortez was predeceased by his grandson, Juan DeDios Cortes. Mr. Cortez is survived by his loving wife, Guillermina Cortez of Dover; seven children, Cesar of Dover, Eleazar of North Port, Fla., Carlos of Ft. Meyers, Fla., Juan of Dover, Gerardo of Dover, Yolanda of Ft. Meyers Fla., and Leonardo of Dover. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to Holy Cross Church 631 S. State St. Dover, on Monday evening where a viewing will be held starting at 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place in the church at 6 p.m. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.
