CLAYTON - Rose Marie Young, 88, of Clayton, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016. Rose was born in Wilmington, on September 4, 1927 to the late Giuseppe and Marie Giordano. Rose enjoyed being a homemaker and family gatherings. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Santo Giordano; sister, Josephine Yakal; sister, Mary Tampanello; grandson, Luke Romano; and son-in-law, Rob Marcum. Rose is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert L. Young, Jr.; daughters, Claudine Marcum of Hartly, Joanne Guthrie (Doug) of Ocean City, N.J., Rae Romano (Ron) of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; sons, Andy Romano (Brenda) of Leesburg, Fla. and Robert (Doris) Young of Clayton; grandchildren that she loved dearly, Darlene Donze, Tina Ramsey, Tony Coover, Ryan Romano, Dougie Guthrie, Devin Guthrie, Jacey Young, and Logan Young; five great -grandchildren, Nicole, Chuck, Anthony, Jimmy, and Kenzie; eight great-great-grandchildren, Devin, Alexis, Alicia, Skyler, Devin, Brooklyn, Elyzabeth, and Anthony; and a dear friend of 40+ years, Janice Nabb. The family would also like to extend thanks to special caregivers Shannon and Regina and Compassionate Care Hospice Aides and Nurses. Services will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, 2220 N. Dupont Hwy., New Castle. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
