Rosalie Lena Trotta Wise
HARRINGTON, DE - Rosalie Lena Trotta Wise passed on July 4th, 2023. She was born May 21, 1938 in Baltimore, MD to Jesse and Carmella Trotta.
She graduated from Greenwood DE School in 1956. Rosalie was a woman of many talents. She was a spiritual, loving, caring, fun and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend to many. She did not know how to be ordinary in life, she was extraordinary. Her magnetic personality would captivate your attention and make you laugh. She was an artist on many levels, through her amazing cooking, ballroom dancing, singing, playing musical instruments, working in her garden, and spending time with her family. During her vast life she wore many hats with pride. Rosalie led an adventurous life and encouraged and inspired others to grab life by the horns. Her dedication to faith, family and friends were core to Rosalie.
Rosalie's vivacious personality was infectious and she was known for her "get things done" attitude and spunk. Raising four children, providing primary care for her husband, operating a beauty salon, managing the family custom bikini business, preparing delicious meals from scratch (always enough to feed an army!) and finding joy in life every day were the things Rosalie thrived on. In her short 85 years she went scuba diving in the Bahamas, drove across the United States and camped in a van with her wheelchair bound husband, stood up on a surfboard and rode a wave on the North Shore of Oahu Hawaii at the young age of 70, went skydiving, and actively participated in a ballroom dancing group mastering the Tango becoming the most elegant dancer on the floor.
She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Harrington, DE and a Member of USA Dance.
Rosalie is survived by her sons, Ben of Harrington, Eric (Linda) of Henderson, Todd (Shelly) of Greenwood; daughter Christi (Ken) Boots of Greenwood; eight grandchildren, Erika (Jon) Bailey, Jessica, Parker, Zachary, Grayson Wise, Harbour, Londin, Kaden Boots; sister Elizabeth (Libby) Garey; and Freda (feline rescue).
She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Wm. Wise; and granddaughter, Julia Wise.
Visitation will be held at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE, Wednesday, July 12, 2023, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday, July 13, 2023, 11:00 AM, St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 109 Dixon St., Harrington, DE.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in Rosalie's memory to St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Harrington, DE.
Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com
