Ronald W. Hartnett, 65 MAGNOLIA - Ronald W. Hartnett, 65, of Magnolia, passed away Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, in Arbors at New Castle. He was born on Sept. 18, 1944, in Dover, son of the late Daisey and Robert L. Hartnett Sr. Ronald served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He worked for the State of Delaware for the Division of Child and Family Services for 19 years retiring in December 2007. Ronald enjoyed going to the University of Maryland College football games. He was an umpire for the Camden-Wyoming Little League for nine years. He was a member of the Magnolia Fire Company, where he also would call bingo. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert L. Hartnett, William V. Hartnett, and Richard L. Hartnett; and a sister, Betty J. Arment. Ronald is survived by his wife of 44 years, Anna Hartnett; a son, Ronald W. Hartnett Jr. and his fiancee Tina Smith of Middletown; three sisters, Beulah Bell of Dover, Beverly Mildice of Golfport, Miss., and Patricia Benjamin of Canterbury; and an extended family of nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m., Monday, Jan. 25, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Magnolia Fire Company, P.O. Box 55, Magnolia, DE 19962; or Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care of Delaware, LLC, 220 Continental Drive, Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713.
