MILFORD - Roland L. "Junior" Jackson, 83, of Milford, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 26, 2009, at Milford Memorial Hospital, Bayhealth Medical Center surrounded by his familiy. Mr. Jackson was born in Cambridge, Md., the son of the late Roland and Agnes (Lynch) Jackson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. Mr. Jackson worked as a foreman in both residential and business construction for many years, retiring from Vepco, Inc in 1993. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family. He could fix anything that was given to him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Florence B. Jackson on April 20, 2009; and a son-in-law, Phillip E. Sharp Sr. He is survived by one son, Roland L. Jackson Jr. and his wife Alice of Milford; two daughters, Florence G. "Flossie" Sharp and her fiancee' John R. Hudson, and Sandra L. Brooks, all of Milford; five grandchildren, Phillip E. Sharp, Jr., Darlene Austin, Rhonda Jester, Ryan Brooks and Kyle Brooks; ten great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Annie Lee Greulich and Fannie Mae Wilkins, both of Milford. Funeral services were Tuesday, June 30, at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford. Burial was in Milford Community Cemetery, Rt. 113, Milford.
