Roger O. 'Rocky' Cannon Jr., 63

EARLEVILLE, MD - Roger O. "Rocky" Cannon Jr., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at his residence, with his loving wife by his side. He was 63. Born on May 19, 1946 in Wilmington, he was the son of the late Dorothy (Solick) and Roger O. Cannon Sr. Rocky was a HVAC contractor for 42 years, and for the past six years owned Cannon Mechanical Service Inc. He and his wife, Ruby, enjoyed camping and traveling throughout the United States, especially to Colorado. Rocky loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Middletown Baptist Church in Middletown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Cannon. Rocky leaves many wonderful memories to his wife of 44 years, Ruby (Lloyd) Cannon; a daughter, Carol Jean Cannon of Wilmington; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Timothy and Christopher Cannon; and many dear friends. Funeral services will be 12 noon Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Middletown Baptist Church, 419 Armstrong Corner Road, Middletown, where friends may visit two hours prior to service. Rocky will be laid to rest at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Wilmington. Memorial contributions can be made to Community Hospice of Maryland, 9940 Franklin Square Dr., Suite K, Baltimore, MD 21236; or to Middletown Baptist Church, 419 Armstrong Corner Rd., Middletown, DE 19709.
