MILLSBORO - Roger G. Young, of Millsboro, formerly of Smyrna, died Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, in Renaissance Health Care in Millsboro. Roger survived a debilitating car accident at the age of 17 and bravely lived for many years to the fullest of his abilities. He was 55. Mr. Young was born Nov. 14, 1953, in Landstudl, West Germany, the son of the late Harold G. and Ruth E. Young. Roger enjoyed listening to music, playing Bingo, playing Bocci ball, and bowling. He was known to have a good sense of humor and liked to make people laugh. He worked as a technical clerk for the Dover Air Force Base. He is survived by three brothers, Harold G. Young, Jr. of Hartly, William Marc Young of Smyrna, and Kurt W. Young of Townsend; a sister, Carol Ann Bramble of Chestertown, Md.; and several nieces and nephews. A viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday Aug. 13, in the Faries Funeral Chapel located at 29 South Main Street, Smyrna. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 14, in the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery Smyrna. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Asbury United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 330 Street, Smyrna, DE 19977. Arrangements are by Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium Inc., 29 South Main Street, Smyrna. Letters of condolence may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
