HARRINGTON - Rocco Mondazze passed away on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at Bayhealth-Kent General hospital. He was born in Hartford, Conn. to the late Rocco and Olive Mondazze, Sr. Mr. Mondazze served his country proudly in the US Army during WWII. He served in Europe and Germany in the infantry and was part of the heavy weapons unit. He retired in 1988 as a quality control inspector for Sealectro Electronics. In his spare time, he enjoyed wood carving and making duck decoys. He loved to work with oil paints, fish, and play billiards. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his lovving wife of 63 years, Lucy Mondazze; son, Michael G. Mondazze of Philomath, Oregon; daughter, Marlene M. Perez of Griffin, Ga.; niece, Shirley Widel of Hartford, Conn; three grandsons; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 at St. Bernadette Church, Harrington. There will be a reception immediately following the service at the church fellowship hall. Visitation will be on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Interment will be at a later date in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery. Bloomfield, Conn. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Milford, Harrington, or Frederica Senior Centers.
