RICHMOND, Va. - Roberta C. Williams, 87, of Richmond, Va., passed away on Aug. 2, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. J. Williams, and son, J. Dale Williams. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, B. J. Williams and husband Robert Perkins, and S. Jessica Williams, as well as her favorite niece, Ruby Oglesby. Roberta was kind, loving, generous, compassionate, funny, and never met a stranger. She loved to work in her garden and share the bounty. Roberta was born and raised in Georgia and relocated to Dover, Del., in 1961 where she worked as an RN in Kent General Hospital. She moved to Richmond in the spring of 1998 to be close to family. A visitation will be held at the West Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad St., at 4 p.m., on Saturday, August 7, 2010, followed by a memorial service at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greater Richmond Alzheimer's Chapter.
