BRIDGEVILLE - Robert Lee Thomas, age 75, of Bridgeville, passed away suddenly on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at PMRC in Salisbury, Md. He was born in Bridgeville, son of the late Florence Russell, and Charles N. Thomas of Bridgeville, who currently resides at Genesis Center of Seaford, and who turned 100 years old this year. Mr. Thomas retired from RAPA Scrapple after 28 years service in 1990. Currently he was working at Advanced Auto Parts in Seaford. Mr. Thomas was a life member of the Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Company with 57 years service. He had held many offices in the company including Deputy Chief and received Fireman of The Year in 1974. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Louise Williamson Thomas; two sons, Robert Thomas, Jr. and his wife Tina and Joseph Thomas and wife Brenda; six grandchildren, Katie Hague, Bo Thomas, Jennifer Thomas, Clark Thomas, Breanna Jo and Skylar Thomas; three step grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Thomas; one sister-in-law, Debi Thomas; one nephew, four nieces, and several great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services with firefighter honors with Rev. Dale Brown officiating will be held on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Bridgeville Vol. Fire Company, 315 Market Street, Bridgeville, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Friends may also call on Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville.
