Robert Charles Arthur Sr. DOVER - Robert Charles Arthur Sr., of Dover, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at the Delaware Veterans Home, Milford. He was 80. Mr. Arthur was born April 25, 1929, in Maple Shade, N.J., to the late John F. Arthur and Helen M. O'Halloran Arthur. He served in the United States Air Force from 1947- 1974, retiring in Dover, he was employed by the City of Dover Senior Surrey; State of Delaware – DAST; Del Tech Terry Campus and State of Delaware Office of Information Services as a computer engineer retiring in 2001 after 15 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and photography. Mr. Arthur was a lifetime member of NRA and DAV. He was a member of TREA (The Retired Enlisted Association), AFSA (Air Force Sergeants Association), AARP and American Legion Walter L. Fox Post #2. Mr. Arthur is survived by his wife of 30 years, Shirley Culver Arthur of Dover; four daughters, Roberta Arthur and her husband Steve Coleman of Defuniak Springs, Fla., Helen Harper and her husband Horace of Roanoke, Ala., Donna M. Arthur of Lafayette, Tenn., and Kim Minger and her husband James of Clayton; son, Robert C. Arthur, Jr. of Ohio; stepson, David S. Walls of Smyrna; 13 grandchildren and one step-grandchild and numerous great- grandchildren. Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Saturday March 13, 2010, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt. 10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Blvd., Milford, DE 19963. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
