FELTON, DE - Robert Allen "Bob" Speakman, Sr. passed away suddenly on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Bayhealth Sussex Campus, Milford.
Bob was born in Wilmington, DE the son of the late Juanita (Hastings) and Frederick R. Speakman. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War. He worked as a technician for ADT Security for 26 years before retiring in 2000. He was an avid amateur radio operator since 1959 with the call letters "K3JLY". He enjoyed deer, bear, and elk hunting in Canada and in the Western U.S., canoeing in the local lakes and ponds, as well as watching sci-fi movies.
In addition to his parents; Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie (Willey) Speakman in 2000; and his daughter, Dorothy Speakman Gull in 2015.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Mary M. (Fitzgerald) Speakman; one son, Robert A. Speakman, Jr.; three grandchildren, John Gull, Andrew Gull and Lauren Gull; three step daughters, Debra Keith, Linda Oliver and Kathy Cook; and one step son, Michael McFarland.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2022 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford where friends may call from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Burial with military honors will be in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford.
