Richard W. Harrison

FELTON - Richard W. Harrison, of Felton, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011. He was 58. Mr. Harrison was born April 22, 1952, on Long Island, N.Y., to Walter J. Harrison and Patricia Lynch Harrison. He graduated from New York Law School in 1979. After graduation Mr. Harrison worked for the State of Delaware in the DDS Developmental Disabilities Services for 17 years. He was interested in computers and enjoyed helping others with their computer issues. Mr. Harrison enjoyed gardening, grew beautiful flowers and flowering trees. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. His father, Walter J. Harrison, preceded him in death. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Harrison of Reston, Va.; his loving partner of 31 years, Carole Glasspool of Felton; brother, Douglas J. Harrison and his wife, Joan of Reston, Va.; Carole's son, Dana Glasspool and his wife Kathryn of Phoenix, Ariz.; Carole's daughter, Laurie Glasspool Hayes of Raleigh, N.C.; grandchildren, Dana Ryan Glasspool of Chandler, Ariz., Jason Glasspool of Madison, Wis., and Britni Glasspool of Phoenix, Ariz.; niece, Shelley Harrison of Boston, Mass.; and nephew, Alexander Harrison of Pittsburgh, Pa. The family would like to extend special thanks to Charles and Barbara Kersey, Patrice Mahon, Dr.'s Sandra Foote and Laurie Dohmen for all their care and compassion during this difficult time. A Celebration of Life will be noon, Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior.
