Richard Lee 'Dick' Pitlick, 88
HARRINGTON - Richard Lee "Dick" Pitlick, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024 at home in Harrington, DE. Dick was born June 22, 1935 in Harrington to the late John Jr. and Ada (Richards) Pitlick.
He was a member of the Harrington High School Alumni Association class of 1953, and a member of A.A.R.P. He served two years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. He was employed by Joseph T. Richardson, Inc. where he retired after 42 years. He enjoyed traveling, was a NASCAR Racing fan of Richard Petty, enjoyed working in his yard and "tinkering" in his workshop where he worked on many projects for his family. His daily routine always included feeding his backyard friends (rabbits, squirrels, birds and fish).
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Family was very important to him. He never met a stranger and always enjoyed talking with friends and former fellow workers.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jo Pitlick Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Lord Pitlick; one daughter, Denise Jane Eastman; one granddaughter, Melissa Lavelle and her husband Lance; and one sister, Sally Sargent; and two very special great grandchildren who were the love of his life, Samwise Edward Lavelle and Lyra Elizabeth Lavelle.
There will be no viewing. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 20, 2024 at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington, DE.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Harrington Alumni Association, P.O. Box 37, Harrington, DE 19952.
