DOVER - Richard J. Davis, Sr. passed away, Sunday, December 18, 2022, at home.
Mr. Davis was born November 16, 1937, in Queens, New York to the late William C. Davis and Sadie Lee Orem Davis.
He served in the Delaware Army National Guard for 9 years. He was a truck driver and drove over the road for almost 40 years. Mr. Davis had a wonderful sense of humor and could fix anything.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Orem Davis and William Spencer Davis; sisters, Jane Pleasanton, Diane Laramie and Lauren McNinch.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia Dixon Davis of Dover; sons, Richard J. Davis, Jr. of Rehoboth Beach and Aaron Sacra of West Palm Beach, Florida; daughters, Lisa Davis-Callahan (Richard) of Dover, and April Parker (Daniel) of Zebulon, NC; sisters, Carol Neidig of Phoenix, AZ, Linda Ayers of Virginia Beach and Roberta McNinch of Dover; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
