Richard 'Dick' H. Chance, 71
EASTON, MD - Richard "Dick" H. Chance, passed away on Friday, Nov. 21, 2008 in Memorial Hospital of Easton. He was born March 12, 1937 in Ferndale, Md., sone of the late Edward G. and Dorothy Kendall Chance. Mr. Chance was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a self-employed furniture upholster, working with Higgins and Spencer Furniture Store of St. Michaels for many years. He was a member of the Tuckahoe Equestrian Center, the Maryland Rough Riders and the Fairview Church of the Brethren of Cordova. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Ann Chance; one son, Russell "Rusty" and wife Melissa Chance; one daughter, Kimberly "Kim" and husband Greg Price, all of Easton; three brothers, Thomas Chance, of South Pines, N.C., Robert Chance, of Pasadena, and Paul Chance, of Seaford; one sister, Dorothy Strausburg, of Thurmont; and four grandchildren, Greg, Amanda, Ryan and Matthew. Visitation will be at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Tuesday at the church one hour before the service. Services will be 12 noon Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Fairview Church of the Brethren, Cordova. Burial will be in the Eastern Shore Veteran Cemetery, Hurlock, Md.
