CHICAGO, Ill. - The Home Going Service to celebrate the life, loves and legacy of Christian Service of The Rev. Reedie G. Moore, Sr., of Chicago, Ill., will be 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 8301 So. Damen Ave., (773)239-6828, with a viewing from 5 to 7 p.m. Rev. Moore has been a Gospel preacher for 53 years. He pastored churches in Wisconsin, Indiana and Illinois. He was serving as the 36 year pastor of the Calvary Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 4423 South Princeton Ave. in Chicago at the time of his death. Rev. Moore was married to Mrs. Lola Ray Robinson-Moore for 20 years until her death in 1969. For the last 30 years Rev. Moore was married to Mrs. Johnetta Williams-Moore. Rev. Moore is the proud father to three sons, Bishop Richard G. Moore, pastor of Holy Unity Baptist Ministries in Jamaica, N.Y., Pastor Reedie G. Moore, Jr. (wife, Iwana), pastor of Union Missionary Baptist Church in Dover, Del., Reginald Gerard Moore of Chicago; and two daughters, Mrs. Pamela Abernathy (husband, Teyon) of Milwaukee, Wis., and Ms. Whitney Moore of Chicago. In addition to those already listed, Rev. Moore is survived by nine grandchildren, two great-grandsons, one great-great-grandson and one sister, Mrs. Thelma Carver of Milwaukee, Wis.
