TOWNSEND - Regina "Jean" Sylvester, of Townsend, Del., born Regina Kisielnicka on Sept. 21, 1926, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, May 30, 2017 at the age of 90.
Jean is survived by the love of her life, childhood sweetheart, and husband of 73 years, Leland Sylvester. She is also survived by her sons, Ron, Lee and his significant other Kathy, Allen and his wife Mary, and Paul and his significant other Lydel; her grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband Michael, Kerri and her husband John, Jason, Sherri and her husband Corey, and Scott; great-grandchildren, Katie, Sebastian, Ryan, Brayden, Charlotte, and Allison; and her great-great-granddaughter, Charlotte.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna; her sisters, Mary and Bea; and her daughter-in-laws, Elizabeth Ann and Carolyn.
Jean enjoyed spending time with her family and loved them as much as they loved her. She cherished family gatherings and enjoyed cooking for them, playing cards, and her winter travels to Florida. She will be dearly missed by her family.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna, where funeral services will begin at 12:30 p.m.
Burial will follow at The Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.
